Selfie Hate and Foundation Stick Love

Now I’m on Instagram I see hundreds of selfies a day.  How do people do it?  I have tried and tried and just cannot take a good one.  I’ve tried various backgrounds, poses, facial expressions, (I always end up looking petrified) lighting, everything.  The only decent ones are with my son and probably because they are more natural and I am actually smiling instead of managing to look furious/scared. Anyway, the reason I wanted to take a selfie is to show off my new shorter, blonder hairdo which my friend said made me look 12, my mum said I look younger than ever and my husband just knocked off 5 years and said I look 31.  Better than nothing right?!  However, the selfie is really to show off my Clinique Chubby in the nude Foundation Stick £23. Now this is fairly new in the Clinique range and I already use 3 others (Even Better, Moisture Surge and Superbalanced), but in liquid form and I never ever thought I’d purchase this and it would, dare I say it, be my favourite of them all?  I presumed it would be quite drying and have a matt effect, but in fact it’s the opposite and my skin looks dewy, radiant, moisturised and it actually stays put.  I haven’t even needed to use concealer. The Chubby Stick is quick and simple to apply (basically draw over your face and rub in) and you can carry it around easily in your bag unlike a compact which, I don’t know about you, but always ends up opening/falling apart at some point in mine.   So during the day or night you can use it as you would a concealer and touch up the shiny bits and where you really need to instead of slathering on a whole new layer.  I’m really impressed and so glad I just tried it for the sake of it at my local Boots over the weekend when I had intended to just buy some toothpaste.  It’s ideal for summer when you might not want to use too much on your face and perfect for taking on holiday.  I’ve been using it over BB cream or the Moisture Surge which is more of a tinted moisturiser and a fantastic base.  In the photo I am barely wearing anything so you can really see how natural it is and in fact I applied it hours ago.  I have to point out my skin has been looking pretty good the past few days so I am not sure how this would fare on really dry skin, but I still can’t see it having a matt effect as I assumed it would.  I am using ‘No 7 Capacious Chamois’ as I have a slight tan and I like the fact I can still see my freckles through it.  I do highly recommend and it’s a great addition to the Clinique range.  I will rave about the other foundations I mentioned some other time.  In the meantime  I am off to get myself something healthier to eat as my lunch today has consisted of a Diet Coke, chocolate brownie, crisps and my son’s Wilko pick n’mix sweets (shhhh!)
And to try and perfect my selfie pic. Actually I really don’t think I can be ar*ed!
