I was thrilled when Larissa of The Real Wonderland Blog wanted to collaborate with me and suggested we both write about Kiko Milano products we have both purchased recently. There is a good selection as we have both tried completely different items.
So I might as well get to the point and you can read both our reviews here:
Highlighters are ever so popular at the moment and are perfect for the summer weather when foundation is a little lighter or you’re just wearing a BB cream or tinted moisturiser. You want a radiant and dewy complexion and for the light to catch the high spots on your face. I think using a highlighter is a great addition to a day time look as you can still be natural and subtle with it or build up a bit more for the night time and use on eyes and cupids bow as well as on cheekbones. There are all forms in the shops at the moment: liquids, powder and seeing as we’re all on the go most of the time, tube highlighters really hit the spot.I have added to my Kiko Milano and highlighter collection with my latest purchase of the 3D Light & Glow Highlighter which is currently on sale in the UK at £4.90. It comes in 3 different tubes consisting of 3 colours. I have 02 Challenge Peach which is pink, bronze and beige. As always with Kiko, the packaging is gorgeous and not easy to miss in a bright fuchsia pink tube which has a built-in sponge at the bottom where you can blend either one or two or all of the colours.
The texture is quite rich, soft and creamy giving a subtle radiance depending on how much you want to build up, but it is very easy to blend with fingers or using the sponge. It also combines as a blusher on your cheekbones and a lovely highlighter if you use the lighter colours above the eye lid.
It is long lasting (even during a very busy, hot, sweaty day!) but great for carrying around and applying quick, easy touch ups should you wish.
Baked Bronzer
I also adore the Kiko Milano Desert Dunes Baked Bronzer from the Limited Edition Wanderlust range (unfortunately now sold out) as it not only has the most gorgeous gold, glitzy yet chic and glamorous packaging, but is massive so will last for ages and has a big mirror inside useful for quick touch ups when you’re on the go. It gives a really natural glow and sheen without being too glittery or cakey. My only negative is that it doesn’t last too long so I find a few touch ups during the day or night are required. I have the matching face brush which is just as beautiful and a really well made, long lasting brush.
Eyebrow Fibers Coloured Mascara
The Benefit Brow range has had so much publicity of late and of course I have tried a few of the products, but was looking for something a bit less expensive and with a slightly bigger tube because as much as I do like the Benefit Gimme Brow, I do think £18.50 is expensive for a tiny tube of something you would use very quickly. So I purchased the Eyebrow Fibers Coloured Mascara which is a bigger tube and a more wallet friendly £7.20 (currently only £5 in the sale). The brush is slightly bigger than the Benefit Gimme Brow and more mascara like. It is easy to be quite heavy handed with it and create really defined, thick, dark eyebrows, but I use gently and lightly for a more subtle definition and filling in sparse hairs. Mine is in 05 Deep Brunettes, but there is a really good range of colours unlike the Benefit which has only 3. They both have gel consistencies so if you use a thick sweep of the Kiko one then eyebrows can look quite glossy. It really depends what kind of look you are going for.
Kiko Milano have some fantastic new products for Autumn/Winter in gorgeous black, shell like packaging and with some lovely Autumnal colours. Seeing as the sun has come out in the UK at the moment I am enjoying the more summery looks, but cannot wait to try the new collection and, of course, let you know how I get on.
I love the look of the bounce blush! I wish I could get that!
